Señor Jorge Corona Guillen
 Width  -  4.75 inches
 Height  - 7 inches
 Weight - 15 ounces

Artist Señor Jorge Corona Guillen is the master craftsman behind many of the animal & mythical figurines that come out of Mata Ortiz. His work covers a wide variety of animal figures. His pottery is an homage to his ancestors own figures, as with this mythical entity. Its original symbolism and meaning has been lost to the ages. These figurines from Mata Ortiz are very unique and wonderful.
This piece was created from Señor Guillens favorite media such as the white clay he harvests from the surround foothills of the village. The designs are hand painted with homemade glazes from native plants and soil. The designs also hearken back a millennium ago his ancestors, the Paquime, who resided in the Casas Grandes region in Chihuahua.
Señor Guillen signs his work on the bottom.
 A pottery ring is included.
