Serious fossil collectors have a minimum of several Coprolite specimens in their collections. A fossil is defined as any traces or remains of life in the past. Coprolites fit perfectly into this definition. This coprolite evolved into this fossil on the island of Madagascar. It is from the Eocene Epoch 45 million years ago. It was from an an ancient species of tortoise long since extinct. Compare this to the other coprolites I offer and the difference is clear. This piece looks (but fortunately does not feel or smell) like feces. The original material has been replaced molecule by molecule with minerals to form into a textured stone. This is an affordable piece to add to and enhance your growing fossil collection. These are very popular (or is it 'poopular'?) with adults and kids.
I provide an acrylic display stand for displaying.
