Hi. This pottery is full of all sorts of shapes and designs starting off with the stair stepped opening outlined in sharp angles and rich turquoise blue. The sky is full of wonderfully overlapping circular patterns outlined in brick red dashed lines. And the are four individual male quail with their topknots and beautiful yellow and blue feathers. This Artists method of craftsmanship includes glazing the pot with different colors. Then she etches fine outlines through the glaze to the underlying white clay.
The artisan is Luzelva Gutierrez. She is the wife of Vidal Corona and her work strongly resembles his (or, his work resembles hers). Ms. Gutierrez has worked diligently at her craft and has gained a following of enthusiastic admirers. Her work is fairly rare as this is the first I have had to offer for sale. This pottery is diminutive and well within the price range of the beginning collector. As with all my pottery, a ring for sitting on is included at no additional charge.
