Señor Joel Corona made this beautiful diminutive work of art. His style is very similar to his uncle Vidal Corona. This piece has been delicately glazed with images of nature. Joel etches through to the underlying native white clay, sharply outlining the scenery for the greatest detail.
The prickly pear possess spines and red fruit. Feather scales are on the hummingbirds and the roadrunner. The rabbits tail is all fluffed out. There is even a congenial yellow snake moving along the ground.
The white clay and the glazes are all from materials gathered in the native landscape surrounding the village of Mata Ortiz.
