This Pottery was hand created by Master Potter Señor Israel Sandoval in his studio in the village of Mata Ortiz.
Señor Sandoval is renowned for his talent in working with black clay. Not only are his skills superior in creating the finest details in metal and matte finishes, he is also known for his ability to create complex, textured patterns. In this instance he has created sashes from finely repetitive tic - or corrugated - marks, one after another into the the thousand, resulting in a stunning, finished effect. The faintest Green lightning zigzags of glaze are also employed in parallel to the tic marks, creating a harmony of varying designs and textures. Horizontal bands on both the top and the bottom tie everything together into a beautiful display piece
This piece of art is able to stand on its own but a ring will be included. The underside has this Artisans signature.
