This is a Mata Ortiz Hand Coil Pottery, a flat black vessel, with hundreds of tick marks, one row evenly formed and created on top of another row and on top of yet another. The final result is this overwhelming design called corrugation. This is a case the whole is definitely greater than its part. The nearly round pottery is finished with a delicate and smooth triangular neck and mouth. The master creator of this piece is Señor Fito Teña. Señor Teña began and has led the corrugated pottery movement. The pottery is durable and has been fired to last for generations. If you do not have money to spend or room for larger pottery, this may just be the answer.
