Hi. This pottery is full of all sorts of shapes and designs starting off with its teardrop shape. The small round opening acts as the center of a three petal, rich turquoise flower. The sky is a wonderful eggshell white and it acts a the perfect color backdrop to highlight and compliment all the designs and activity. There are bright cheery green prickly pear with their fast ripening red fruit. There are numerous hummingbirds buzzing around and even a hawk has come into the scene. A rabbit grazes on the ground as a yellow snake meanders along minding his own business.
This Artists method of craftsmanship includes glazing the pot with different colors. Then he etches fine outlines through the glaze to the underlying white clay.
The artist is Señor Joel Corona. He is the son of Vidal Corona and his work strongly resembles his fathers folk art. Señor Corona has worked diligently at her craft and has gained a following of enthusiastic admirers. His work is fairly rare as this is the first I have had to offer for sale. This pottery is diminutive and well within the price range of the beginning collector. As with all my pottery, a ring for sitting on is included at no additional charge.
And remember, I hand select each piece for sale and put each piece through a series of tests to make sure it is the highest grade pottery from the artists.
Señor Corona signs his work on the bottom.
