Señor Enrique Pedregón Ortiz - Artist
Weight = 5.5 ounces
Height = 2 inches
Width = 4 inches
Here is a wonder of hand created ceramic folk art by master artisan Señor Enrique Pedregón Ortiz. He is a leader in the renewal of the Paquime imagery of his ancestors from 1000 years ago. This smaller piece is full of an amazing amount of detail. The band around the opening is of particular interest with its repeating Rams Head design, which is uncommon in Mata Ortiz images. The sharp, contrasting and bright colors make the images stand out in clear and dramatic action. The entire piece is made from native white clay harvested from the nearby foothills to the Village with native pigments glazed on the surface.
Señor Enrique Pedregón Ortiz has proudly signed his work on the underside. A pottery ring for sitting on is included.
