This Pottery was hand created by Master Potter Ms. Tomasa Mora in her studio in the village of Mata Ortiz.
Ms. Mora is renowned for her talent in working with black clay. Not only are her skills superior in creating the finest details in metal and matte finishes, she is also known for her ability to create mesmerizing, textured patterns. In this instance she has created a band of finely repetitive tic - or corrugated - marks around the collar, one after another into the the hundreds, resulting in a stunning effect. This compliments the strong Paquime designs of the Casas Grandes culture of a thousand years ago.
