This beautiful piece of legacy art is the creation of Señor Armando Silveira.
He is a brother of the world famous Silveira family artists group. He is the one family member who specializes in bringing the native black clay to life.
This pottery is covered in matte and glossy black glaze. Through this detailed technique Señor Armando is capable of conjuring these southwest desert shapes and lines. These designs are of his Paquime ancestors from a thousand years ago in the Casas Grandes region of Chihuahua.
Around the upper collar are hundreds of small tic marks which create a wonderful textured band adding to its mystique and allure. The neck and mouth are wide, adding to the substantial feel of the pottery.
The clay is mined from the Sierra Madre Mountain Range near the village of Mata Ortiz.
This is a higher quality Mata Ortiz piece which I have put through rigorous testing, including the sounding test, to assure I am selling the penultimate in pottery from Mata Ortiz. All my pieces go through the gauntlet of quality testing to assure me (and my clients) I am selling pottery of the highest standards of durability and aspect.

Señor Mora has signed this pottery on the bottom. Be sure to find the quarter next to the pottery for a good size scale.
