Welcome.
Here is a hand made native boar from south of the border in Nogales, Mexico. This was created by Jesus Trujillo, famed young artisan specializing in images of native wildlife. In this instance is the Javelina, a native boar-like animal seen throughout the southwest United States and northern Mexico.
This wonderful and authentic piece is made of untreated metal so the surface may rust in a lovely natural way. The details are both cheerful and impressive. The metal spikes on the back mimic the bristled hairs and the javelinas back when it is aroused. The snout is very discernibly clear as even the curly tail is.
This sculpture of metal weighs 6 ounces. It measures 6.5 inches long by around 2+ inches wide. It stands 5.5 inches tall.
The piece is suitable for both outdoors or indoors and is wonderful animal folk art.
