This beautiful gourd shaped artwork was hand formed by Master Craftswoman Briana Bejarano. Ms. Bejarano favors images of her ancestors of the Casas Grandes region from a thousand years ago.
The pottery is covered with these designs that date back to the Paquime Culture. Traditional stylistic bristle patterns and sashes covered in Paquime geometry seen throughout the southwest. Checkered patterns are also prevalent.
Each and every part of this creature was hand fashioned and fired in an outdoor, homemade oven.
Each of Ms. Bejaranos figures are unique and made from scratch, so no two are ever alike. And, she signs her work on the underside.
