Here is a wonder of hand created ceramic folk art by master folk artist Señor Angel Amada. He is the leader of the burnt red-brown and cream white icing glaze motif. This demure piece is full of an amazing amount detail. The white glaze appears so vibrant on the red-brown, it looks like lace. The details are incredibly fine. The opening has a pinwheel pattern. There is textured work around the pinwheel that looks like tooled leather! This is the height of challenge to bring about, and is a bold indication of Señor Amada’s commitment and seriousness to his craft. Fine and subtle lines are even drawn into the designs around the opening.
This piece has a low form. The bold details are balanced perfectly by its simple shape.
