Señor Señor Oscar Quezada is the creator of this piece of Mata Ortiz celebration. Señor Quezadas organic skills are exhibited in his recreation of the ancient Paquime imagery of his ancestors. This piece is low in profile and wide, affording a large canvas for displaying this beautiful folk art. The underlying glaze is black. This provides the groundwork for showing off the bold, beautiful, and warm colors of the southwest deserts of the U.S. and Mexico. The orange, blue, lavender and green are bright and cheerful. All the designs represent Señor Quezadas interpretation of his ancient ancestors designs merged with a contemporary style. Considerable time and skill was put into creating this one of a kind pottery.
Señor Quezadas creations are formed from materials retrieved from the natural resources provided by the surrounding environment of the Village of Mata Ortiz
Señor Quezadas signature is on the bottom. A pottery ring is included.
