This Pottery was hand created by Master Potter Señor Israel Sandoval in his studio in the village of Mata Ortiz.
Señor Sandoval is renowned for his talent in working with black clay. Not only are his skills superior in creating the finest details in metal and matte finishes, he is also known for his ability to create complex, textured patterns. In this instance he has created sashes from finely repetitive tic - or corrugated marks, one after another into the the thousand. In addition, the ancient and prevalent Paquime block design has also been incorporated, resulting in a stunning, finished effect.
A pottery ring will be included. The underside has this fine Artisans signature.
