Welcome.
Here is pretty much a one-of-a-kind Talavera Figure of a Texas Steer Skull. The State Flag colors are Blue Red & White, though in this sculpture the white is replaced with more of a tan. There is an opening in the back for hanging on a nail on a wall. Or just as attractively, this pottery may be displayed laying flat. The Texas Lone Star is displayed prominently in white on the blue field across the forehead, just beneath the name TEXAS. The eye sockets are opened and you can see through one to the other. This is a rare piece and I have been unable to find a record of any others like it in the Talavera Art Form.
