Señor Nury Andrew Hernandez is the Master Artist who created this Mata Ortiz Pottery Interpretive Mask of the Paquimé Culture. He makes available to me his pieces with the most brilliant colors as opposed to the more subdued shades he often creates. The brilliance of this is more time consuming and difficult to create, and purer dyes are needed and are more difficult to make.
This piece possesses parrots and foliage. Their shapes are created through delicate and deft etching. The glazes are bright and bold, and they encompass the rainbow. This mask is designed to be hung on a wall in a place of distinction.
Señor Hernandez is the only resident of the community of Mata Ortiz who is able to bring these to us. And because the effort involved in bringing these brilliant colors to reality, this one is even less available. See other Nury masks offered and see the heighten level of beauty with the richer, bolder colors here.
Señor Hernandez has signed this Interpretive Mask Paquimé Culture Mata Ortiz Pottery on the back.
