This is a 'Shield' pendant of Inca origins. Shield symbiology served as a protector from evil entities to illness. The vortex design is the 'Navel' of the earth. The 'Navel' was considered the ancient Incan city of Cusco. The images and their meanings are centuries old. The design was originally created by the Inca. Now their descendants recreate this with their own modern touch.
The rich blue turquoise is from the natural wonders of Peru. The color can range from a deep rich blue to a lighter sky blue depending on if it is in bright sunlight or indoors. The craftsmen take the time to individually pick each of the gemstone to be included. Each piece is very carefully and delicately cut and hand laid. Fine silver filaments are deftly inserted between pieces in a way only human hands can achieve. The fluid movement of the curving lines is near perfection. Both the pendant and the earrings are crowned with circular and teardrop pieces.
The back of the three pieces are fashioned thick, brilliant shields of .950 Sterling Silver which captures and magnifies any light which strikes them.
