There are numerous aspects to the Inca Cross, too many to describe here. The geometry of this piece represents entry into other realms; the Southern Cross constellation, the Inca Empire, and other things. The mysticism and deep symbolism traces back a thousand years for the modern rural Peruvians.
I lose count at around 37 individually cut pieces of precious stone and shell. Some of the adjoining seams are too fine to detect without a magnifier. There is amazing delicacy and fine hand skill to create this beauty.
The silver is .950 pure Sterling. The materials are hand picked for their highest quality in texture and color. Piece by delicate piece, between silver filaments, this art form is created using methods which have evolved from the ancestors original work 1000 years ago, their modern day descendants carrying on and advancing the tradition.
All the elements are from the Good Earth of Peru and from her shores.
