Cobaltoan Dolomite are two large words translated to mean ‘Beautiful Bright Congo Pink/Fuchsia Mineral’. It is often cited as the most Radiant of crystals found anywhere. Another name, Salrose, refers to all the great pink/fuchsia stones coming out of The Republic of the Congo. The Congo IS the ultimate locale for high quality Cobaltoan Dolomite worldwide, and Congo Cobaltoan Dolomite IS the pinkest, most lustrous of stones. The druzy layer of fine crystallization thinly coats the flattened face of the host rock. The Congo is also the preeminent source for green malachite. Many dark areas of this mineral dot the face, and the green is visible in the back area as well.
