It is rare to have work available by Potter Ms. Elvira Bulgarini Cota. At this years Tucson Gem & Mineral Show I was able to acquire this one.
Ms. Cota's work is more expensive compared with pieces of comparable size, and for good reasons. Inch for inch of surface area has more densely packed detail with hand painted lines than nearly any other potters. On close inspection the the detail and exquisite fineness of the lines is amazing to behold. Held away, the images combine to create swirls of larger shapes overlapping each other. At some angles the effect is nearly like fur. Her effects are not dissimilar to 19th Century master painter Claud Monet. Ms. Cota's work is limited on the market and is grabbed up very quickly. The photos and video will add to understanding of her fine work.
