Here is a mystical Pendant set in the swirling image of the Inca Earth Mother, and it is created by the family run business of Urin Huanca*. The Earth Mother, also called 'Pachamama', was represented in the Inca Empire by this spiral design. The spiral is the 'Navel' of the earth, where all energies and life forces flow in and out connecting our reality with the next reality. This symbol also appears in many ancient petroglyphs throughout North & South America, leading some to suspect an overlap of cultures a thousand years in the past.
This Pendant is created from three elements. There is the white Mother of Pearl hand inlay and the Red Coral inlay, both of which are from the Pacific shores of Peru. These are set on solid beds of .950 pure sterling silver, also from Peru. And it is crowned with a single piece of Red Coral in the bale.
To top it off, on the back of the pendant are 7 separate round gemstones, each hand cut and wrapped in sleeves of sterling. The stones are: Sugalite, Lapis, Malachite, Azurite, Nacre, Spiny Oyster and Red Coral. The Family of creators from Lima are second to none in all of Latin America.
