Here is a hand painted, festively designed Day of the Dead Skull Talavera Mexican Pottery.
The Mexican holiday of Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) is celebrated throughout Mexico. November 1st is a wonderful time to visit this nation and marvel at the respect and splendor descendants show to their beloved, deceased ancestors in community cemeteries. It’s a day for the living family and friends to renew their respect and love for their deceased by gathering to pray for and remember them, and participate in their spiritual pilgrimage.
This Skull is brightly hand painted with traditional holiday designs from our neighbors to the south. Figures like this skull are a common sight in southwester home gardens and patios, including my own. This Latin American Talavera artwork, which ever style is displayed, enhances the beauty and status where ever it is used.
